Each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the PTFA held in October, the Committee is elected to run the PTFA by the members of the PTFA.  The Committee consists of a Chairperson, a Treasurer, a Secretary and Ordinary Committee Members (OCM).  All the elected committee members (Officers and Ordinary) automatically become Trustees of the association (charity) and have a legal duty to ensure that the association (charity) acts lawfully and is managed properly.  The PTFA committees usually meet once a month and set up smaller working groups to organise individual events.
